Virginia leaders offer condolences after former U.S. Attorney’s death

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia leaders are offering their condolences after the death of Jessica D. Aber, the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
On Saturday, March 22, officers with the Alexandria Police Department were called to a residence in Alexandria, Virginia, where
they found Aber dead inside.
"My prayers are with Jessica Aber's loved ones," said state Sen. Tim Kaine in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Jessica was an exceptional public servant who dedicated her life to serving her fellow Virginians. She will be deeply missed."
Several other officials and agencies went to social media about Aber's death.

"I am saddened to learn of the passing of Jessica Aber, whose career of public service included U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia," said Jason Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia.
FBI Richmond posted on its Facebook about Aber's passing, saying in part:
"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our colleague and friend former U.S. Attorney, Jessica Aber. Her unwavering commitment to upholding the law and her dedication to the safety of our communities."
According to ABC News, sources close to the investigation have said that the cause of death "appears to be from natural causes." ...read more read less
