Food 2Go: Jersey Mike's gives 100% of sales to community outreach on Maui

MAUI COUNTY (KHON2) - Delicious subs for every occasion, Jersey Mike's is your go to stop for Food 2Go. This month they've partnered with the nonprofit group Anchor Cares, which is affiliated with Anchor Church.

"Anchor Cares is our
nonprofit outreach that really is committed to helping individuals and families in crisis from homeless teens and families to sex traffic victims to all the people who experienced trauma on Maui. So we're really committed to helping those individuals in crisis recover and find healing and hope," said Anchor Church Staff Pastor Trevor Ferge.

Throughout the month Jersey Mike's has been collecting donations for Anchor Cares, but this Kuhio Day is also known as the Day of Giving.
"What's really exciting is 2 days from now, it's called the Day of Giving. And the Day of Giving we're giving away 100% of all sales are going to go to Anchor Cares," said Jersey Mike's Marketing Manager Lance Motogawa.

"100% of it goes to Anchor Cares and it goes right back to the community. All funds raised in Maui, stay on Maui. It doesn't funnel back to the nonprofit to pay for administrative costs or anything like that. All these dollars really go back to these organizations that we partner with to impower them to do what they do best in the community," said Pastor Ferge. ...read more read less
