EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department is warning residents to be aware of fake GoFundMe accounts that appear to be using the Young Park shooting in Las Cruces to scam residents.

Those who wish to donate are encouraged to properly vet or evaluate the source before donating, police said.
Anyone with information on illegitimate crowdfunding platforms should report those accounts through the platform's reporting process.

As we have previously reported, four suspects are facing charges after a shooting at Young Park in Las Cruces that killed three people and injured 15 others.

The victims who died in Friday’s shooting have been identified as Andrew Madrid, 16; Jason Gomez, 17; and Dominick Estrada, 19. Madrid and Gomez died at the scene.
