(PENROSE, Colo.) -- Two Sisters Restaurant, a family-owned business, has been serving the Royal Gorge area for almost 24 years. Originally opened in 2001 by their mom and aunt, it is now run by two sisters who continue the tradition of serving homestyle dishes. After many years in Florence, the r estaurant moved to Penrose in December 2023 to better serve the community in a new location. FOX21's Krista Witiak sat down with Two Sisters' owner Cinda Ruby to discuss the restaurant's rich history, signature dishes, and the military and family values that have kept it a local favorite. A standout feature at Two Sisters is the Veterans Room, a dedicated space that honors military service members. This heartfelt tribute provides a space for veterans and their families to feel appreciated and recognized for their sacrifices. In addition to the meaningful tribute, the restaurant offers live music Thursday through Saturday and serves dinner until 8 p.m. Two Sisters is well-known for their "Smasher" burgers—half-pound burgers served every Tuesday for under $10. They also serve delicious Reuben sandwiches made with corned beef that's prepared from scratch. The pies, which are homemade, are another customer favorite.
