(Photo by Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Mar. 24)–Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to a house fire in southwest Lincoln near 2nd and “F” Street early Sunday afternoon.
According to LFR public information officer MJ Lierman, the fire started in the basement of the house due to a lithium
ion battery that had exploded. The battery was apart of an electric bike, which had been stored in the area. The house sustained $50,000 in damage and is a total loss. No injuries were reported, and two people were relocated by the Red Cross due to the fire.
Lierman reminds you to keep lithium-ion-battery electric scooters and bikes in the garage. The Lancaster County Health Department assisted in disposing of the batteries. ...read more read less
