Monday showers, elevated fire danger returns quickly
Mar 24, 2025
AM Headlines:
Scattered Showers
Gusty Winds this Afternoon
Fire Danger Rises – Dry Air and Low Humidity
Warm Week Ahead
Rain Returns Late Sunday
Discussion:
A fast moving cold front will slide through the area today bringing a quick round of showers through the early afternoon. The
mountains will see the best rain chances, but as the system pushes east, the rain really falls apart with .1-.25″ total. The bigger story kicks in behind the front as winds pick out of the west this afternoon gusting 20-25 mph. At the same time drier air races in, dropping relative humidity levels. That will once again crank up the fire danger which will stay elevated through Friday.
Temperatures will stay mild all week with highs in the 70s and even pushing near 80 by Friday and Saturday. Our next shot at decent rain won’t arrive until late Sunday when another system moves in. Until then we’re in a warm and dry stretch with increased fire danger being the main headline after today.
