State fair showcases Louisiana middle and high school STEM projects

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Science projects and new ideas from middle and high school students all over the state will be showcased at the 71st annual Louisiana State Science & Engineering Fair on Wednesday, March 26.
LSEF is a platform where students can explore STEM fields. They
can show their research skills and compete for awards and advancement opportunities.
LSU Online & Continuing Education hosts both the Region VII and Louisiana State Science & Engineering Fair each year. The competition has two divisions: Junior (grades 6-8) and Senior (grades 9-12). The Region VII fair is open to students from the Greater Baton Rouge area.
The state fair welcomes top students from all regional fairs in Louisiana.

Time: Public Display of Projects – Noon to 1 p.m.
Pathways to National and International Recognition
Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF)
Top qualifying Senior Division students from the Region VII and Louisiana State Science & Engineering Fair will earn the opportunity to compete at the prestigious Regeneron ISEF. This global competition brings together high school students from around the world to showcase their innovative research.
Broadcom MASTERS
Junior Division students with top projects will have the chance to participate in Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology, and Engineering for Rising Stars), the nation’s leading STEM competition for middle school students.
