PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) — An organization that supports veterans and their families will celebrate the 2025 Memorial Day weekend with a Color Run 5K. Mission 22 will host its second annual 5K run on Saturday, May 24, at Shadow Pines Park in Penfield. The event will raise funds to support its goal s. Mission 22, which references the statistic that approximately 22 veterans die to suicide each day, provides resources for veterans and their families, especially those facing mental health challenges. Through programs and events, including the run, the organization hopes to receive continued support to reach those struggling in their immediate time of need. Women Run the Roc to support Willow Center Last year, the inaugural run was held in memory of SFC Adam Donaldson, who died to PTS. His mother, Bobbi Helmacy, in partnership with Mission 22, organized the event to publicize the plight many veterans face in adjusting to civilian life and promote community involvement.
