"My Love Will Make You Disappear" is about Sari (Chiu) who believes she is cursed to make men disappear. Sari lives in a building where she meets struggling landlord Jolo (Avelino). The two work together to save the community from being displaced -- along the way, they develop feelings for each other.
Chiu and Avelino headline their first film together, previously the duo starred in the television series "Linlang" (2023) and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" (2024).
Referred to by fans as "KimPau," the pair has been called as one of the Philippines' most popular "love teams" today. Their projects have ranged from a variety of genres -- from the drama thriller "Linlang" to the romantic comedy "My Love Will Make You Disappear."
Chiu, 34, is one of the Philippines' most well-known actresses, boasting more than 12 million Instagram followers. She was named on Forbes' 100 most influential celebrities in Asia list in 2020. The actress is known for movies such as "Bride For Rent" and "One Great Love," along with television programs such as "It's Showtime."
Avelino, 36, is known for his roles in "Walang Hanggan" and "Heneral Luna." He has also grown in popularity through the years, boasting nearly 10 million followers across his social media platforms.
Chiu said she is thankful to "Hello, Love, Again" for paving the way for another Filipino film to be showcased internationally, including screenings across the Bay Area. That film, which was released last fall, set the record as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
