RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho police officer got a surprise Sunday when his patrol vehicle found its way into a sinkhole. The department says Officer Cory Marquez had an unexpected night after his vehicle fell in. Rio Rancho man accused of firing hundreds of rounds pleads not gui lty they say Marquez walked away unharmed, just a little muddy and wet. The city says a water main broke in the area of Cherry and Unser and closed Cherry Road for now. They're hoping to reopen the road sometime Sunday evening.
