11 years later, Hemet police are seeking the public’s help to solve a deadly strangling

Hemet police are asking the public for help investigating the 2014 strangling of a woman.
Police and fire officials first responded to a medical aid call on March 22, 2014, in the 200 block of South Lyon Avenue, near Florida Avenue, where they found 47-year-old Dori De Ann Jamison dead in a trailer,
according to the Hemet Police Department.
Investigators learned that Jamison had been strangled.
After interviewing several neighbors, friends and family members, detectives learned that Jamison had recently broken up with her boyfriend and started dating a new man. Her neighbors told police they hadn’t heard any recent fights or arguing from Jamison’s trailer.
Jamison’s mother was the last known person to talk to her three days before police found her body. She told police the conversation with her daughter was positive and not concerning.
Jamison’s ex-boyfriend went to her trailer after not hearing from her for several days. When she didn’t answer the door, he asked neighbors to go with him to her trailer. He forced his way into the trailer, where he found her body, police said.
Detectives didn’t find other signs of forced entry or a struggle inside the trailer.
The department’s homicide cold case unit asks the public for any new information or leads that could help them solve the case. They ask anyone with information to call 951-765-3898 or email Coldcase@HemetCA.gov
