Spring is here but there is a chance of snow in the forecast to kick off the week ahead, It comes with a concern too. It is not uncommon to start the day with lows near 30 this time of year. After all, our average low is 32 so the fact that tonight, lows will drop to 31 is perfectly seasonable an
d reasonable. The concerns come in due to a juicy front coming through starting in the morning. The main issue is the timing of the onset of precipitation. As the overnight lows drop to the lowest point pre-dawn, a front comes in with precipitation. We are likely to see it begin as snow or a mix of rain and snow, just in time for the early commute. Little to no accumulation is expected, but it would be wise to be prepared for the possibility of slippery roadways and slower traffic as a result. Build in some extra time for the early drive. We will mix over to all rain by 9 am and patches of fog are expected to develop. Areas of locally heavy rain move through and totals by days’ end will be between half an inch to an inch. Rain ends late Monday and clearing takes place Monday night. Tuesday will be a pretty nice day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s. Our next chance of rain will be a 40% chance on Wednesday. Look for highs near 50. Sunshine returns for Thursday and stays through Friday with temperatures rising from the upper-40s into the lower-50s day to day. Next weekend looks cooler than average with sun and clouds Saturday. Clouds roll in for Sunday with a chance for rain in the morning.
