HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WGNO) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian de
ad in Harrison County on Saturday, March 22.
The MHP reported the crash happened on Interstate 10 around 4:20 a.m.

MHP officials said an initial investigation shows a Freightliner Cascadia was heading west on I-10 when it hit a 17-year-old pedestrian.
According to the MHP, the pedestrian was standing next to a disabled Jeep in the left lane at the time of the collision.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner Cascadia's condition was not provided.
The investigation is ongoing.
