Man killed in shooting on near east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed on the near east side of Indianapolis Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at around 4:46 a.m., officers were called to the 300 block of North Arsenal Avenue on a report of a per
son shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds on a home's front porch. The man was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to police.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident that does not pose an ongoing threat to the community. A public police report indicates 30-year-old Warren Keith Highbaugh has been arrested for his alleged role in the shooting. Highbaugh has been preliminarily charged with murder.

The Marion County Coroner's Office is also assisting IMPD with its investigation of the shooting. The coroner will help police determine the victim's exact manner and cause of death. MCCO will publicly release the decedent's name once his family has been properly notified of his death.
