AUSTIN (KXAN) — No. 2 Texas posted nine runs in the second inning to secure a 13-2, 5-inning win and 3-game sweep of Auburn in Southeastern Conference softball action at McCombs Field on Sunday.
Katie Stewart capped the huge frame with a 3-run home run, adding to her big weekend against the Tig
ers. She hit a walk-off, 3-run homer to give the Longhorns a 7-5 win in Game 2 on Saturday. In the series, Stewart finished 4-for-7 with nine RBIs after a 2-for-2, four-RBI day Sunday.

Longhorns head coach Mike White said Stewart's performance was "the most impressive thing he saw today."
"With her walk-off home run yesterday and then continued her home run streak today, it’s great to see her get back to form," White said.
Texas won the series opener Friday 12-2 in five innings.

Teagan Kavan picked up her 14th pitching win of the season with 10 strikeouts and a walk in five innings. She allowed two runs on two hits in 85 pitches, 57 for strikes. Kavan was the winning pitcher in all three games of the series, becoming the first Longhorns pitcher to do that in conference play since Blaire Luna did it in 2013.
Along with Stewart, Reese Atwood, Joley Mitchell, Katie Cimusz and Kayden Henry had two hits to pace the Longhorns. Texas capped the series with 13 runs on 13 hits, racking up 32 runs on 34 hits.
Texas (31-2, 5-1 SEC) hosts Stephen F. Austin at 6 p.m. Tuesday before heading to Starkville, Mississippi, to take on Mississippi State in a 3-game series starting Friday.
