3 suspects arrested in connection with Young Park shooting

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – Las Cruces police are reporting that three individuals have been arrested in connection to the shooting that happened at Young Park on Saturday that wounded 15 and killed three. They say on Sunday morning, LCPD officers arrested a 17-year-old boy.
Saturday evening, a
nother 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old Tomas Rivas were arrested. All have been charged with three open counts of murder. Additional charges are currently pending.
Rivas is currently being held without bond in the Doña Ana County Detention Center. Both juveniles are at the juvenile section of the detention facility.

The three victims who passed away from Saturday's shooting have been identified as 16-year-old Andrew Madris, 18-year-old Jason Gomez, and 19-year-old Dominick Estrada. Police say Madrid and Gomez died on scene and Estrada was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The other 15 shooting victims' ages range from 16-36. Nine are male and six are female. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. ...read more read less
