"We are thrilled to let you know that your wish to go to Lake Louise has been granted," said Nathan Costa, President of the Springfield Thunderbirds over video at Swish Night.
The community got together for Swish Night at the Longmeadow Country Club on Saturday evening. Those who attended got the chance to enjoy championship basketball and delicious food.
Local sponsors and businesses also laid out a variety of raffle options for the silent auction. The 12th annual event is dedicated to helping local children with critical illnesses. "We've granted more than 10,500 wishes for children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island," said Kara Walker, Chief Marketing & Communication Officer, Massachusetts & Rhode Island. One member on the organizing committee was granted a wish back in 2011.
"When I look back on my battle with cancer, I look back and it's the number one positive thing out of my battle," shared Colin Down, Former Wish Kid. In Western Massachusetts alone, there are 80 children waiting for their wish to be granted and Swish Night brings the community one step closer to help them experience a glimpse of hope.
