Governor Andy Beshear vetoed a house bill that would overturn his executive order banning conversion therapy.Governor Beshear announced his veto of HB 495 on 'X' Saturday night following the Fairness Dinner in Louisville.The bil l includes a measure that would overturn the governor's previous executive order to ban conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ youth in the state."Conversion therapy is torture, and that's why I signed an executive order banning it in Kentucky," Beshear said in his post.He goes on to say, "I'm going to keep fighting for what's right - and that's loving thy neighbor."Supporters of HB 495 argued that Beshear overstepped his authority with the ban.[It] both infringes on parental authority and potentially infringes on our First Amendment rights, Rep.
