ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A crash shut down the intersection of Buffalo Road and Howard Road in Gates Saturday evening after a driver ran a red light, according to an officer on the scene. Authorities were called to the intersection around 7 p.m. Saturday where it was reported that at least one person was trapped. One woman was taken in an ambulance, according to police on the scene. Additional details were not immediately made available, though officers told News 8 that injuries appear minor. Two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Buffalo Road and Howard Road in Gates on March 22, 2025, around 7:30 p.m. (WROC/Melanie Sosa) At least two silver vehicles were involved, including a Chevy Silverado and a Honda Pilot. Both vehicles had heavy damage on the front end. Gates Police were on scene with the Gates Fire District, and Gates Ambulance.
