BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WROC) - Honeoye entered Saturday's Class C final looking to make history with the program's first ever state title win. Instead, it ended in heartbreak. The Bulldogs suffered a 63-47 loss to Berne-Knox-Westerlo of Section 2 to end their 25-game winning streak and end their seaso n. Berne-Knox-Westerlo set the tone early with a 20-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second, Honeoye closed the gap to trail 27-24 at the break. Berne-Knox-Westerlo starting clicking at the end of the third and closed out the quarter with a 48-34 lead. The deficit was too much to overcome for Honeoye in the final frame, losing in its first state finals appearance. Landon Washburn led the Bulldogs with 29 points.
