HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Each year the St. Patrick's Committee of Holyoke honors the late president John F. Kennedy. He was honored on Saturday in an annual wreath laying ceremony, that took place at his monument in Holyoke.
In 1958 JFK was the first to receive the Committee's National Award. The
recognition is given to one Irish-American who has made an impact in their career. This year's award recipient is actress Bridget Moynahan, she is also from western Massachusetts.
"So, I grew up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, so I'm kind of a neighbor to Holyoke," expressed actress and 2025 JFK National Award Recipient Bridget Moynahan. "I used to come here and play sports, basketball, soccer and lacrosse."
Moynahan and this year's President of the St. Patrick's Committee had the honor to lay the wreath. The actress is taking part in events all weekend, you may even see her at the parade.
