Driver arrested after striking residence in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Ind. — Police arrested a driver who struck a residence in Lawrence on Saturday.
According to the Lawrence Police Department, officers were called to the 11500 block of High Timber Drive around 5 p.m. to investigate a crash involving a vehicle and a residence. When police arrived at th
e scene, they located a vehicle that had, indeed, been crashed into a house.
The driver of the vehicle in question was still at the scene when police arrived. Law enforcement conducted an OVWI investigation because the driver smelled of alcohol and displayed signs of impairment.
After speaking with witnesses and observing video of the crash, police arrested the driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing endangerment and reckless driving with property damage. Both preliminary charges the driver faces are misdemeanors.
LPD confirmed the residence sustained minor damage during the crash, and its structural integrity was not impact. Police indicated that nobody was injured during the crash.
