INDIANAPOLIS — La Margarita is closing its location in Fountain Square.
On Saturday, a sign was posted in the restaurant's window. It indicated the location is now closed.
"La Margarita is now closed," the sign read. "Thanks for 13 wonderful years in Fountain Square."
According to La Marg
arita's website, the local Mexican food business opened its first location in Speedway in 1984. The business opened a second location near 86th Street and Township Line Road in 1990.
La Margarita's expansion location at 86th Street and Township Line Road ultimately closed in 2005. The company then opened another location near 96th and Meridian Streets in 2006.
La Margarita's Fountain Square restaurant opened at the end of 2011. It's 13-year run has now come to a close.
La Margarita still has one location open. It can be found inside the Sun King Spirits located at 351 Monon Boulevard.
The sign on La Margarita's door in Fountain Square did not list a reason for the restaurant's closure. The sign did, however, seem to insinuate a new La Margarita location will be opening soon.
"Hope to see you at Factory Arts District this spring," the sign read.
