Woman killed in Fort Wayne shooting FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A woman was killed Saturday in a Fort Wayne shooting near West Wildwood Avenue, the Fort Wayne Police Department says in a news release. At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Fort Wayne officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Wildwood Avenue on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to the scene and found an adult female lying in the street with gunshot wound injuries. Medics arrived to the scene and pronounced the woman dead. Homicide detectives have begun their investigation by searching the neighborhood for witnesses and evidence. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
