OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – After four First Team All-State selections, the third most points in a Wisconsin boys high school career, and two Fox Valley Association Player of the Year honors, Oshkosh North senior Xzavion Mitchell finished his historic high school career at the Kohl Center.
Mitch
ell helped lead the Spartans to their first WIAA State Tournament appearance in seven seasons, when #4 Oshkosh North faced #1 Wisconsin Lutheran in the Division I semifinal. Though the Spartans ultimately came up short, Mitchell didn't leave Madison empty handed. Before his game, he was named Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball, the first Spartan to earn the honor.
Oshkosh North head coach Brad Weber called Mitchell a "unicorn", his teammate Bryce Ott called him "our glue", and we called Xzavion Mitchell the Xceptional Athlete of the Week.
