AUSTIN (KXAN) — More glass has fallen from a building under construction in downtown Austin, prompting another street closure Saturday evening.
Guadalupe Street is shut down between Fifth and Sixth Streets downtown. Both the Austin Fire Department and Austin Police Department responded to 321 G
uadalupe St. where a window of a lower unit "came apart," according to AFD.
APD shut down the road but didn't have a timeline for when it would reopen. It alerted the building's maintenance crew.

The building is a high-rise that is under construction. Its building permit shows it's going to be 55 stories when complete and include residential, office, retail and financial space.
Last week, glass falling from the building prompted a different street closure. Ryan Companies released a statement at the time saying "Safety remains our highest priority, and our team, along with our glass subcontractor, responded immediately to secure the area and complete repairs. We appreciate the support of the first responders for their swift action in informing the public, assisting with temporary road closures, and helping to safely direct traffic around the area." ...read more read less
