Amica Mutual Pavilion heats up for the third day of March Madness

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two second round March Madness games took place in downtown Providence Saturday, and fans had a lot to say about the teams.
The third day of the tournament started at the Amica Mutual Pavilion with fourth-seeded Purdue taking on McNeese.
The twelfth-seed Cowboys beat C
lemson in a bracket-buster on March 20, but the Cinderella story was ended by the Boilermakers, who won 76-62.
Fans said they were optimistic about the team’s chances headed into the Sweet 16, and players said they were pleased with the support they received at the AMP.
However, the highlight matchup of the day was game two, as tenth-seed Arkansas took the floor against Big East Champion St. John’s.
Coaching stars Rick Pitino and John Calipari faced off in the capital city, with Pitino returning after taking the Providence Friars to the Final Four in the 80’s.
And the game didn’t disappoint, with Arkansas taking the win in front of a packed crowd.
