Three dogs rescued from Overland Park house fire, one injured

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Overland Park Fire Department says they rescued three dogs from a house fire today, March 22.
According to OPFD, around 5 p.m., crews from OPFD and Lenexa FD responded to the fire at 100th and Knox. Units reported seeing smoke and fire from a single-family home and began a
n offensive fire attack.

After about 40 minutes, those crews had the fire under control.
However, OPFD says one firefighter suffered a minor hand injury but wasn't taken to the hospital.
Additionally, the fire department says that three dogs were rescued from the home by firefighters.
The two people who live at the home were out at the time of the fire, but they will be displaced as the fire damage is significant, according to OPFD.
