NEW LONDON, Wis. (WFRV) - Thousands of people lined the streets for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, the grand finale of a weeklong celebration in New London.
"It's been a great week. The weather has been great, which has helped. Even today is a little chilly, but it's amazing. We've had
great turnouts at all of our events this week. We couldn't be happier," said Shamrock Club of New Dublin President Anne Stedman.

The parade featured pipe bands, high school bands, and local businesses with festive floats. Attendees cheered as leprechauns and Irish dancers made their way down the streets, while the sound of bagpipes filled the air.
"We are so happy that everyone promotes us, the businesses around the community and everyone coming here today. It just makes us feel good that we're doing a good thing for the community and that everyone is having a great time," Stedman added.
The weeklong festivities also included traditional Irish music, a céilí dance, and family-friendly events. Proceeds from the celebrations benefit local initiatives.
"A lot of the money we get we give back to the community, so it's just a good thing for us to do," Stedman said.
With this year’s event concluded, organizers are already planning for next year.

"We'll start next week, getting the band, getting the tent, figuring out the bar, the parade, everything. It will take a whole year, but we love it," Stedman said.
