EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso leaders celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the reopening of the Downtown El Paso Visitor Information Center (VIC), the City's center for discovering the Sun City's culture, attractions and hospitality. Destination El Paso said the VIC, located at 1 Civic Ce nter Plaza next to the Chihuahuas stadium, was originally opened in 2014 but was closed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Photos courtesy of Destination El Paso. “The VIC will be a gateway for visitors to explore the culture, history and experiences of the Borderland while reinforcing the deep connections that make our region truly unique,” Veronica Castro, director of Tourism and Strategic Alliances, said. The VIC will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
