Downtown El Paso Visitor Information Center reopens

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso leaders celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the reopening of the Downtown El Paso Visitor Information Center (VIC), the City's center for discovering the Sun City's culture, attractions and hospitality.
Destination El Paso said the VIC, located at 1 Civic Ce
nter Plaza next to the Chihuahuas stadium, was originally opened in 2014 but was closed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The VIC will be a gateway for visitors to explore the culture, history and experiences of the Borderland while reinforcing the deep connections that make our region truly unique,” Veronica Castro, director of Tourism and Strategic Alliances, said.
The VIC will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to being an information hub for visitors and El Paso natives alike, the center will also feature crafts created by local artists.

“We are thrilled to reopen the Downtown Visitor Center and once again be a hub for both visitors and locals," Brooke Underwood, executive director of Visit El Paso, said. “This space is more than just an information stop — it’s a celebration of our community, where people can discover everything our area has to offer while also supporting local artisans through our retail selection. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and continue serving as a gateway to the best experiences our city has to offer."
