Four wounded following separate Orleans Parish shootings

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Four people are wounded following separate shootings that happened in Orleans Parish, primarily overnight, between Friday evening, March 21, and Saturday morning, March 22.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the first shooting occurred at 6:04 p.m. in Lower Alg
iers, at the 6400 block of General Meyer Avenue.
The initial investigation shows that the victim was standing in front of a location when he was approached by the unknown suspect and shot in the body. He was taken to a local hospital by New Orleans EMS.

Police say the second shooting happened in the Desire area of New Orleans, around the 3100 block of Morrice Duncan Drive, and was reported shortly after 11:35 p.m.
The initial investigation shows that the victim was driving in the area when an unknown individual began shooting at the vehicle, hitting him. He was taken to a local hospital by private conveyance.
The third shooting reportedly happened around 2:04 a.m., when police were called to the 78100 block of South Coronet Court, in New Orleans East, on report of a shooting.
On scene, a 30-year-old woman was found having been shot in the leg. Further investigation shows that she was asleep in her bedroom when she heard shots being fired. One of the bullets reportedly went through the wall and hit her.
She was taken to a local hospital by New Orleans EMS.
Rape and kidnapping suspect arrested by Hammond police
Police report that the fourth shooting happened in Algiers, near the intersection of Brooklyn Avenue and Socrates Street, around 2:50 a.m.
Investigation shows that the victim was on a levee when two men approached and robbed him. He complied, but before leaving, the suspects shot the victim before heading in an unknown direction.
