Purdue dismantles McNeese, heads to Sweet 16 in Indy

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WISH) — Purdue dominated McNeese in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, winning 76-62.
Purdue made its first five shots of the game and jumped out to a 38-20 lead at halftime.
Trey Kaufman-Renn led Purdue in scoring with 22 points, his fifth straight game with 20 o
r more points.
The Boilermakers made 11 three-pointers, shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc. They had four players in double digits in scoring (Kaufman-Renn, Fletcher Loyer, C.J. Cox, and Braden Smith).
With the win, Purdue advances to the Sweet 16, where it will play in Indianapolis. It’s the second straight year and third time in the last four years that Purdue has made it to the second weekend of the tournament. Purdue has now won six straight second round games.
The Boilermakers will play the winner of Houston and Gonzaga.
