EASTOVER, N.C. (WNCN) — Security cameras captured people vandalizing cars at a small local dealership in Cumberland County. The business wants to know who did it and why.
Dawanna Brown of Kingdom Auto Sales in Eastover said the incident happened Wednesday night.
The security footage shows tw
o people in masks. One of them swings at a Mercedes with a baseball bat, breaking the windows and damaging other parts of the car. Brown also believes they used a BB gun due to what appears to be bullet holes.

One week earlier, according to Brown, someone came to the dealership and damaged seven cars. She said one of those cars was a Dodge Challenger, which the dealership then fixed, only for someone to unsuccessfully try to damage it during that second incident Wednesday.
"Complete shock," she said. "It happens once and then it happens again. You just really don't expect that."
Brown said she couldn't get video of the first incident that happened, so she's not sure if it was the same people shown in the video of the second incident, but she believes the incidents are connected based on the damage.
According to Brown, the Mercedes will likely have to be pulled from the inventory.
"It hurts just like any other business when someone comes in and steals something," Brown said. "A loss is a loss. When you're thinking a vehicle, you're thinking that's food and bills and things like that."
Brown said she's not sure why somebody would do this.
"We've racked our brains," she said. "As a business owner, you're not able to 100% please everyone, even though we strive every day we come in here. Sometimes, you just miss the mark for whatever reason. We even went through cases where we thought we might have done that and we couldn't warrant anything that would bring this or remotely close to this to us."
Brown said she still feels safe, but is now more vigilant.

"We just feel like could this be the day it's going to happen again?" she said. "Are we going to pull up and all of our windshields are busted out? It's kind of uneasy right now, but we're still optimistic and loving what we do. We come in every day to do it again."
Brown is offering a $500 reward for leads. Based on nearby cameras, she believes the individuals were in a small Ford SUV, possibly an Escape. ...read more read less
