CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A family has been displaced from their home in north Charlotte after a fire broke out Friday afternoon.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Eagle Creek Drive near DeArmon Road. Crews saw fire showing upon arrival.
Firefighters were able to control the blaze in ap
proximately 25 minutes.
Charlotte Fire said it started due to a faulty electrical receptacle issue behind the A/C compressor.
The fire has been deemed accidental. It caused an estimated $52,000 in property and content loss.
The family is receiving aid from the Red Cross.
