Man killed in crash outside Richmond International Airport

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was killed in a car crash outside Richmond International Airport (RIC) in the early morning on Saturday.
According to Henrico County Police, officers responded to the report of a vehicle crash at the intersection of Airport Drive and Audubon Drive at 2:12 a.m. on
Saturday, March 22.
Once there, officers found a man that was pronounced dead at the scene as well as a woman with injuries considered life-threatening, police said. The woman was taken to a local hospital.
An investigation into the incident is being led by the Henrico Police Crash Team, and a section of Airport Drive between I-64 and Route 60 will be closed until the investigation is over.
Police are advising travelers to use Laburnum Avenue to Route 60 as a detour to avoid what they are estimating will be a large impact on airport traffic Saturday morning.
