PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A new vegan restaurant will make its way to Petersburg, with plans to officially open in the next few weeks.
The NuVegan Café in Petersburg will bring an all-vegan menu to the city at 950 S Sycamore Street, following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which occurred this past w
eek on Thursday, March 20.
According to a social post from the City of Petersburg, Mayor Sam Parham and Councilman Howard Myers attended the event. They were joined by Master Commissioner of the Revenue Brittany Flowers, Master Governmental Treasurer Paul Mullin and SOVA Southern Virginia Chamber of Commerce -- all of whom welcomed the new business to the city.

Officials say that while the café still has some finishing touches inside, its pop-up in the parking lot continues for takeout. According to the restaurant's website, curbside pick-up and delivery are also available.
The restaurant's hours will be noon to 7 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, with plans to extend to 8 p.m.
