CALEXICO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- More than 1,300 pounds of methamphetamine were seized in two separate incidents last week at the Calexico Cargo Facility. The first drug bust occurred on the morning of March 12, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a news release Friday. CBP officers ins pected a red tractor-trailer, driven by a 36-year-old man, entering the U.S. from Mexico. Authorities found irregularities in the vehicle’s fuel tank area where they found a total of 962.31 pounds of diesel fuel that tested positive for methamphetamine. EPA reverses course on Tijuana River sewage crisis The second incident occurred on March 13 when CBP officers encountered a 30-year-old man driving a black tractor-trailer. Authorities conducted a secondary inspection on that vehicle, resulting in the discovery of seven duffle bags containing a total of 140 packages of methamphetamine with an aggregate weight of 704.943 pounds.
