NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As you know, during Lent, Catholics don't eat meat on Fridays, so many Catholics and other Louisianians are craving crawfish, and WGNO's Kenny Lopez found a spot that's hosting "Crawfish Mania." At Pigeon Catering and Events, they are serving up 13 different dishes, all mad e with crawfish. Crawfish prices lower for Ash Wednesday and Lent this year The items on the menu are : Crawfish seafood boil bisque, crawfish corn & crab bisque, crawfish bread, crawfish cakes, crawfish pies, crawfish cheesecake, crawfish corn pudding, crawfish & brie dip, crawfish jambalaya, crawfish enchilada casserole, crawfish riley pasta, crawfish mac n' cheese and crawfish pasta salad. "We use all fresh Louisiana crawfish tails, and that's really important that we use local," Dean Pigeon, co-owner of Pigeon Catering and Events said. And get them while they're hot, because every Friday they boil crawfish from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. "We can boil 1,200 pounds per batch, and we boil over 2,000 pounds of crawfish," he said. They've got something for all your crawfish cravings. The Anatomy of a Crawfish "At first I was like 'that's a lot of crawfish items to have,' but it can fit everyone's palette.
