MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Mississippi man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found dead at a Lafayette County home late Wednesday night.
The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Heights Drive and discovered the
body of 58-year-old Charlene Cook.
They have not said how Cook died.
Following an investigation at the scene, Charles Reifers, 76, was taken into custody.

Reifers is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear before a judge for a bond hearing tomorrow.
"The loss of life is always tragic, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family during this incredibly difficult time," said Lafayette County Sheriff Joey East. "I want to commend our deputies for their swift and professional response, which ensured the situation was brought under control without further incident."
