University of Hawaii announces Sports Circle of Honor Class of 2025

The University of Hawaii Athletics announced on Friday the 40th class of the University of Hawaii Sports Circle of Honor.
5 Individuals becoming a part of UH history, Chris McLachlin (announcer), Chad Owens (football), Kelly Majam (softball), Kolten Wong (baseball), and John Nakamura (coach).
Wong is the 10th baseball player to be enshrined in the UH Sports Circle of Honor. Wong was a standout player on the diamond, WAC Freshman of the Year in 2009, and earned many other honors throughout his career with UH. He played 11 MLB Seasons after being drafted in 2011 to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1st round.
Owen is the 37th football player in the Sports Circle of Honor. Was a Freshman All-American as a return specialist in 2001 with UH. Owens was drafted in the Jaguars in the 6th round of the NFL Draft in 2005. He than had a long and successful career in the CFL with multiple honors and records.
Majam becomes the 1st individual softball player to be inducted into UH Sports Circle of Honor. She is the UH Career record holder in runs scored, walks and home runs. She was also a member of the 2010 team that was inducted into the Circle of Honor last year (2024).
Nakamura, was a baseball player for the 'Bows in the 1950s and than was a longtime UH softball coach for 25 seasons.
McLachlin is the 9th media member to be inducted, and was a broadcaster for UH Men's and Women's Volleyball teams (started 1982) and announced over 1,000 games.
The Official induction for these 5 individuals will happen at the Green & White Celebration which is scheduled for Sunday. May 18th at the Royal Hawaiian Resort. ...read more read less
