ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Brooks Avenue underpass by the Rochester airport will be closed for around 3-weeks in late April due to upcoming road construction. Gates Police Department said during the construction detour signs will be posted. Following the three-week construction period the ro adway will reopen but construction will continue all summer. After the 4th of July holiday the road under the underpass will close again for at least 6-weeks and detour signs will be posted again. Following this construction in July, the entire length of Brooks Avenue in Gates will be paved along with other road improvements. Sprucewood and Marilou will be posted for 'no truck traffic' which will be enforced by Gates Police. All trucks are encouraged to follow the posted detour routes. ...read more read less
