Merced reconstruction project to affect roads until October

MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Multiple roads in Merced will be affected by a roadway reconstruction project that is expected to continue until October, the city announced Friday.

ns and utility systems along Yosemite Avenue - from G Street to Parsons Avenue.

The reconstruction project will include sewer system upgrades, replacing around 5,000 feet of sewer main.
There will also be traffic signal improvements on G Street, Mansionette Drive and Paulson Avenue. The road expansion will open up Yosemite Avenue to four lanes - between G Street and Parsons Avenue, according to the city.
Additionally, the project will include surface enhancements and pedestrian and accessibility improvements.
The city says construction will require periodic road closures and detours. They say traffic changes and timelines will be provided through the city's website and social media accounts.
The city will be hosting a community meeting to keep residents informed about the project. The meeting will be on Wednesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the gym at Cruickshank Middle School located at 601 Mercy Ave., in Merced.
