SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities pursued a suspected DUI driver in Chula Vista Friday morning, ending the chase in Hillcrest. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, a call came in at 6:22 a.m. with a witness stating that they saw a driver run a red light at East H Street and Paseo D el Rey. The caller said that the driver had hit their vehicle during the incident and then left the scene. Another hit-and-run was reportedly shortly thereafter on westbound East H Street, police said. This victim was able to get a plate number and vehicle description, which they relayed to authorities. Body found in water near The Rady Shell The department put out a "be on the look out alert" to all local law enforcement agencies. A short time later, a San Diego County Sheriff's deputy spotted the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. According to San Diego Police Department, a call came in from county sheriff's requesting assistance on a suspected hit-and-run and DUI incident out of the South Bay.
