TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A victim in a Taunton head-on crash on Tuesday has died from his injuries, according to the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III. Richard Blanchette, 20, of Middleboro suffered serious injuries in the are of 1070 Somerset Avenue crash that occurre d at approximately 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. Blanchette died on Thursday at an area hospital. There were three other victims in the accident, with both drivers suffering serious injuries at the scene. One victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by MedFlight. The latest status on the second female driver was that she was in critical but stable condition. The passenger in one of the vehicles and the driver of a truck that suffered side damage were also transported by emergency personnel. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit of the Bristol County DA’s office, along with Taunton police.
