Riverside lowincome veterinary clinic to shut down at end of April
Mar 21, 2025
RIVERSIDE, R.I. (WLNE) — Pets in Need Veterinary Clinic, a low-income facility that operates under the Potter League for Animals, will be shutting down at the end of April, according to a statement from the Potter League.
The Riverside clinic offers basic, non-emergency veterinary care such as e
xams, vaccines, spay/neuter, and treatment for minor illnesses.
These services are provided for low fees for pet owners who qualify as low income.
The Potter League cites the rising cost of veterinary care, staffing issues and economic challenges in its decision to close the clinic.
The Potter League took over operation of the clinic in 2020 after the nonprofit that established it could no longer sustain its operation.
