Trump administration approves disaster relief for Nov. 2024 storms

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - FEMA announced on Thursday the Trump Administration approved federal disaster assistance for Oklahomans in the areas affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding from Nov. 2-5, 2024.
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (ODEM) says,
the State requested FEMA Individual Assistance for the November storms in December and FEMA Public Assistance in January, however, the disaster declaration approved is for Public Assistance only.
ODEM officials point out, this disaster declaration is not related to the March wildfires.
According to FEMA officials, public assistance federal funding is available to the state, tribal and eligible local governments for public assistance expenses, including debris removal and costs associated with responding to the storms in the following counties:
Adair
Garvin
Jefferson
Lincoln
Okfuskee
Oklahoma
Stephens
Washita
