Two Arrests Following TwoWeek Aluminum Theft Investigation

d Deanna Abernathy were arrested on Monday and put in jail for theft by unlawful taking. Thomas says an investigation started March 4, when Bison, Inc. reported 300 modular aluminum floodgates for building doorways and two large containers of bulk aluminum, weighing a total of 4,600 pounds, had been stolen. Two days later, 1,500 pounds of cast aluminum was stolen.
Then on March 15, more aluminum was stolen along with eight Apple airtags attached to the metal. Four were later recovered. Thomas says during the investigation, photos of the stolen items were sent to Alter Scrap to see if anyone had been there to sell the stolen property.
On Monday, an employee called LPD to report a man and woman, later identified as Jackson and Abernathy, trying to sell stolen metal. Police showed up and arrested both suspects. ...read more read less
