New Latin restaurant, night club opens in Kansas City's Power Light

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City's famous Power & Light District has welcomed a new establishment that blends culture, cocktails and "culinary artistry" with the city's already dynamic night scene.
Located at 1323 Walnut St., Besos y Abrazos -- Spanish for "kisses and hugs" -- is a Latin dinin
g and nightlife experience where visitors can sit and enjoy a modern twist on Latin cuisine and flavorful beverages while partaking in a fun, upbeat atmosphere.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to bring a one-of-a-kind concept and immersive experience like Besos y Abrazos to Kansas City," said John Moncke, president of the Kansas City Power & Light District.

The new Kansas City Live! destination consists of 3,300 square feet of rich and warm upholstery, natural wood, indoor-outdoor seating, and spots to enjoy live nighttime entertainment from various DJs and performers.

Additionally, Besos y Abrazos offers unique menu items carefully curated by renowned Kansas City chef Joe Shirley.
According to Power & Light, some of the menu items include, "Brazilian Cheese Bread with charred tomatillo crema and cool ranch, Yellowfin Tuna Tostadas with avocado and leche de tigre, Charred Octopus with crispy potato and aji amarillo butter and Tempura Lobster Tacos with pineapple habanero," in addition to many other Latin cuisines.
The establishment is open Tuesdays through Sundays, with the venue transforming into a nightlife destination in the evenings.
NAIA Men’s Basketball Tournament returns to Kansas City
Visitors can expect to see live performances from popular DJs and will have access to VIP bottle services. Additionally, Besos y Abrazos plans to offer several specials throughout the week.
These specials include happy hour Tuesdays through Fridays from 4-7 p.m., as well as Las Chicas nights on Thursdays from 9-11 p.m., and brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
