"You're messing with me": Man scores $1M lotto prize in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — St. Patrick's Day proved lucky to a man who scored $1M after purchasing a Powerball ticket at a local gas station in Pueblo.
On Monday, March 17, Sean S. purchased the ticket and got the surprise of a lifetime when he checked his phone and saw a notification that he had matche
d five numbers: 11, 18, 23, 38, and 60, just missing the Powerball, to win the $1 million prize.
As if it wasn't pure coincidence, Sean purchased his ticket at Winners Corner at 307 North Main Street in Pueblo. Sean told his wife and father first, his wife's reaction? "You're messing with me."
For Sean, the numbers have a special meaning. When his grandfather passed away in 2018, he purchased a Quick Pick ticket just hours before. Since then, he has used the same numbers each time he plays and has been playing the Lottery for 15 years. Sean's favorite games include Powerball, Mega Millions, Colorado Lotto+, and Scratch games.
When asked what he would do with the winnings, Sean said he would invest most to accelerate retirement but may spend some on home improvements, and maybe even a car.
“A Corvette would be my favorite,” he said. “But since I have two kids, maybe just a new Tahoe. It’s functional.”
Sean is not the only one that has scored big, on March 19, a $2M winning ticket was sold in Denver, and on March 12, a winner scored $1M after purchasing a ticket in Loveland.
According to the Colorado Lottery, the Powerball jackpot continues to climb; the estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Saturday, March 22 is $444 million (estimated cash value: $207.2 million). ...read more read less
