35 years of ADA: Rocky Mountain ADA Center educates on civil rights law

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This year marks 35 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Jessica Luzanilla, Instructional Designer with the Rocky Mountain ADA Center (RMADAC), joined FOX21 Morning News on Friday, March 21 to talk about the importance of this civil rights law.

ike to tell people about people with disabilities is that they make up the nation's largest minority group and it's one that anyone can join at any time," Luzanilla said.
The RMADAC provides information, guidance, and training on the ADA and helps individuals, institutions and businesses understand their rights and responsibilities under the law. The RMADAC covers six states: Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
Luzanilla said the RMADAC is not an enforcement agency or an advocacy organizaton and it cannot investigate reports. "We are just an informational organization that provides information about the ADA to people who want to know more about it."
